Experts investigating Australia's information technology skills shortage on behalf of the federal government have called for immediate action before the sector's contribution to national productivity growth declines.
Minister for Information Technology, Communications and the Arts Helen Coonan yesterday released a report, Building Australian ICT Skills, by an information and communications technology working group.
Former president of the Australian Computer Society, and member of the working group, Edward Mandla said ICT's contribution to Australia's productivity growth would fall if the skills issue was not addressed. |
